Parakeet AI is one of the best known live interview assistants, and most of what people search for is the same few things: what it does, what it costs, and whether something else suits them better. This review covers those three, using the prices on Parakeet's own pricing page as of October 6, 2026. We make a competing product, YesToTheOffer, so we say where Parakeet is the better fit as well.
What Parakeet AI does
Parakeet AI listens to a call, transcribes it as it happens, and suggests answers to the questions it hears. It was built for interviews, and its site also mentions sales calls and client meetings. Features it lists:
- Auto answer: detects a question in the conversation and suggests a response
- Coding support for technical interviews
- Live transcription
- AI notes that summarize key points and decisions after a call
- Mock interviews against an AI interviewer
- Extras: a resume maker, headshots, and a question bank
It runs as a native app on Windows and macOS, and as a web version in desktop Chrome. Phones can use a mobile web version. The site says it supports more than 50 languages.
What Parakeet AI costs
There are two ways to pay: a subscription or credits.
| Option | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Unlimited, monthly | $149.90 a month | Unlimited use |
| Unlimited, yearly | $49.99 a month ($599.90 billed yearly) | Unlimited use |
| Unlimited, weekly | $78 a week | Unlimited use for the week |
| 1 credit | $38 | 60 minutes |
| 3 credits | $59 | 180 minutes |
| 8 credits (6 plus 2 bonus) | $118 | 480 minutes |
| 15 credits (9 plus 6 bonus) | $177 | 900 minutes |
Credits are used in 30-minute sessions at 0.5 credit each. Doing the division, the credit packs work out to about $38, $19.67, $14.75, and $11.80 per hour of calls. The pricing page doesn't say how a call that runs a few minutes past a 30-minute block is counted, so ask support or check your balance after a first session before you plan around exact minutes. It also doesn't give a credit expiry date.
The same credits pay for other things. A resume PDF download or a headshot costs 0.5 credit, and a question bank position costs 1 credit. If you buy a pack for live calls, spending some of it on extras reduces your interview time.
What a job search would cost
| Your situation | Likely cheapest Parakeet option |
|---|---|
| 3 one-hour interviews | 3 credits, $59 |
| 4 hours in total | 3 credits plus 1 credit, $97 |
| 8 hours in total | The 8-credit pack, $118 |
| An interview most days for a month | Yearly Unlimited, or monthly at $149.90 |
The monthly plan only pays off if you use a lot. At $149.90 a month, it costs less per hour than the cheapest credit rate ($11.80) once you pass about 12 hours of calls in that month. The yearly plan costs far less per month but asks for $599.90 up front.
Who Parakeet AI suits
It makes sense if you're running a long, busy search with several interviews a week, because the Unlimited yearly plan brings the monthly cost down a lot. It also suits you if you want mock interviews, a resume maker, and headshots from the same place as live help. And if you'd rather run calls from a browser or phone, it has a web version.
It's less of a fit if you only have a few interviews coming up. A $59 minimum for 3 hours is fine, but the larger packs push you to spend more than you may need, and the 30-minute billing blocks mean short calls cost the same as a full half hour.
How YesToTheOffer compares
Our pricing works differently, which is the main reason to look at it:
| Parakeet AI | YesToTheOffer | |
|---|---|---|
| How you pay | Credits (0.5 per 30 minutes) or a subscription | Minute packs, no subscription |
| Smallest paid option | 1 credit, $38 (60 minutes) | $29.99 (240 minutes) |
| Price per hour | $11.80 to $38 with credits | $7.50, $6.00, or $5.00 depending on the pack |
| Billing steps | 30-minute sessions | Per minute |
| Expiry | Not stated on the pricing page | Minutes don't expire |
| Coding help from screenshots | Yes | Yes, charged at 0.2x (one minute of balance covers five minutes) |
| Platforms | Windows, macOS, desktop Chrome, mobile web | Mac (Apple Silicon and Intel), Windows, web |
| Free to try | First mock interview | 30 free minutes |
The YesToTheOffer packs are $29.99 for 240 minutes, $59.99 for 600, and $99.99 for 1,200. Parakeet is stronger on breadth, with a resume maker, headshots, a question bank, and phone support through the web. If your search is short or uneven, paying per minute usually costs less. If you'd rather not think about minutes at all, an unlimited plan is simpler.

Things to check before you buy
Read the refund terms. Parakeet's pricing page links to a refund policy, but the details aren't on the page itself.
Test with your own setup. Start a mock interview with the microphone, headphones, and screen layout you'll use on the real day. Delays and missed questions show up quickly in a test.
Look at how credits are counted. If you plan around minutes, confirm how short and long sessions are billed.
Check the employer's rules. Parakeet's site tells users to check the rules first, and employers can request that their domains be blocked. Some interviews allow no AI help. If yours is one of them, don't use a live assistant there.
How to use any interview assistant responsibly
Employers set the rules, not the tool vendors. The safest uses are the ones nobody can object to: practicing with a mock interviewer, turning your resume into answer outlines you rehearse, and reviewing a transcript afterward to see where you rambled or skipped a detail. If a live round does allow AI notes, treat the suggestions as prompts, not a script. Interviewers notice when answers don't match your resume. Our AI interview copilot guide covers how to set up answers from your own experience so the suggestions sound like you.
