Final Round AI is one of the best known interview assistants, and the questions people type into Google are always the same: what does it cost, is there a free version, is it any good, and what else is there. This review answers those using the information on Final Round AI's own site as of October 6, 2026. We make a competing product, YesToTheOffer, so we say plainly where Final Round AI is the better choice.

The short version

What it isA desktop app that listens to your interview, suggests answers, runs practice interviews, and writes a debrief afterward
PriceFree plan for preparation only. Pro from $25 a month, with up to 40 percent off longer billing periods
Free trialNone. The site says live sessions need an active Pro subscription
PlatformsmacOS 14.4 or later, and Windows
Good forPeople with a long search who want practice interviews and live help in one subscription
Less good forPeople with only a few interviews, or anyone who doesn't want a recurring bill

What Final Round AI does

The site describes one product, Interview CoPilot, built around a loop it calls "Prepare. Perform. Review." You create a "Goal" for each job, attach your resume and materials, and the app builds a checklist from the job description. It lists five capabilities:

  • Live interview help. It listens to the call and shows a short suggested answer within seconds, which you read and say in your own words. It says it handles behavioral, coding, system design, case, and domain questions without switching modes.
  • Practice interviews. Mock interviews in eight scenarios.
  • Interview debrief. A written analysis generated when a session ends, which feeds into the next round.
  • Screen help. It captures a coding or system design problem from your screen.
  • Stealth mode. It keeps the app's windows out of screen shares and recordings, and is on by default.

The site lists support for Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, Webex, HackerRank, and CoderPad, phone screens via another device, and 143 languages and accents.

What Final Round AI costs

PlanPriceWhat you get
Free$0Unlimited Goals with resume and materials, job description parsing and a prep checklist, the desktop app on macOS and Windows
Pro$25+ a monthUnlimited live sessions, stealth mode, automatic debriefs, practice interviews, screen help

Three details matter before you pay:

  1. There is no free trial. The pricing section says so directly: live sessions need an active Pro subscription. The free plan lets you set up and prepare, but not run a live or practice session.
  2. The $25 is the starting price. The page shows "$25+" and says longer billing periods save up to 40 percent, which means month-to-month costs more than $25. We couldn't find the exact monthly figure on the public page, so check it at checkout.
  3. We found no refund terms on the pricing page. Read the refund and cancellation policy before you subscribe, and set a reminder to cancel if you only need it for a few weeks.

Because it's a subscription, the cost depends on how long your search lasts, not on how many interviews you do. That's good value for someone with many interviews over several months, and poor value for someone with two interviews in a week.

Is Final Round AI free?

Partly. The free plan costs nothing and is useful for organizing a job search: you can store your resume and materials and get a prep checklist from a job description. Live interview help, stealth mode, practice interviews, and debriefs are in Pro only. If you want to test whether live suggestions help you, the free plan won't let you, and there's no trial.

What users say

We don't quote Reddit threads or reviews we can't verify, and star ratings on a company's own site are curated. What we can say is what the site itself shows: its testimonials praise the mock interviews and the feedback reports, and one of them mentions hesitating over the "high subscription cost" before buying. That matches the main thing to weigh: the practice and feedback side gets the most praise, and cost is the usual hesitation.

When you read reviews of any interview tool, check three things. Look at the date, because pricing and features change quickly. Look at whether the writer paid for it or received a free account. And look at whether they used it in a live interview or only in practice, since those are different products in effect.

Strengths and weaknesses

Strengths

  • Practice interviews, live help, and debriefs are in one app, so one subscription covers preparation and the real interview.
  • Broad language support and coverage of common interview platforms.
  • Debriefs after each session, which is where much of the learning happens.
  • Coding and system design capture from your screen.

Weaknesses

  • No free trial for the part you'd most want to test.
  • A subscription, with the lowest price tied to longer billing.
  • macOS 14.4 or later is required on a Mac, which excludes older Macs.
  • Stealth mode is a headline feature. Whether to use it isn't a technical question. It's about your employer's rules (see below).

Who should choose it

Choose Final Round AI if you expect a long search with many interviews over several months, you want mock interviews and live help in the same place, and you're fine with a recurring subscription.

Look elsewhere if you have a few interviews coming up, you'd rather pay only for the minutes you use, you want to try the live feature before paying, or your Mac is on an older macOS version.

How YesToTheOffer compares

We make YesToTheOffer, so weigh this with that in mind.

Final Round AI has the larger practice library and polish. YesToTheOffer's advantage is the billing: you pay for the minutes you use, with no subscription to cancel, and you can test it with 30 free minutes before spending anything. For a handful of interviews, that's usually cheaper. See our full comparison with Final Round AI, our list of Final Round AI alternatives, and a similar review of Parakeet AI. Check the rules first

Final Round AI's site describes its stealth mode as hiding the app from screen sharing and recordings. That doesn't change what your employer allows. Many companies ban AI help in live interviews and online assessments, and some ask you to confirm in writing that you won't use it. Being undetected is not the same as being allowed, and being found out can cost you the offer.

The safest uses of any of these tools are practice, mock interviews, and reviewing a transcript afterward to see where your answers were weak. Our AI interview copilot guide explains how to prepare answers from your own experience so the suggestions sound like you.
