People often search for Cluely when they want interview help, and the searches ask the same few things: what does it cost, is it free, how do I download it, and is it worth it for a job interview. This review uses Cluely's own site as of October 6, 2026. We make a different product, YesToTheOffer, so we say where Cluely fits and where it doesn't.
The short version
| What it is | An AI assistant for meetings that transcribes calls, takes notes, and answers questions in real time |
| Price | Free Starter plan with limits, Pro at $19.99 a month, and a $149.99 a month tier that adds hiding from screen sharing |
| Platforms | The site lists a Mac desktop app and mobile (iOS). We saw no Windows version listed |
| Built for | Meetings and calls. The current homepage makes no claims about interviews |
| Good for | People who want a meeting notetaker with live answers, mainly on a Mac |
| Less good for | A job search where you want resume-based answers, coding help, and an interview review |
What Cluely does
Cluely's site describes it as an AI notetaker with real-time assistance. According to the homepage:
- It transcribes calls in real time in more than a dozen languages.
- It generates meeting notes you can share.
- You can ask it a question during a call with a keyboard shortcut, and it answers using what it has heard.
- It doesn't join as a bot, and it works with Zoom, Slack, Webex, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet.
The positioning is meetings in general: notes, answers, and next steps. The homepage we read makes no mention of interviews, a resume, or a job description. That's the main thing to know if you came here to find a tool for interviews.
What Cluely costs
| Plan | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | $0 | Limited AI responses, limited meeting notes, custom instructions, up to 3 uploaded files, past meeting history. Daily caps on AI messages and notes |
| Pro | $19.99 a month | Unlimited AI responses and meeting notes, access to the latest AI models, priority support, unlimited files |
| Pro with undetectability | $149.99 a month | Everything in Pro, plus the app is hidden from meeting screen sharing software |
The pricing page lists monthly or annual billing for the paid plans, but it doesn't show the annual price in the text we read, and it doesn't state refund or cancellation terms. Check both at checkout before you pay.
The jump from $19.99 to $149.99 is the thing to notice. The only difference listed is the hiding feature. For a normal use of a notetaker, Pro is the plan. The top plan exists for people who want the app hidden from shared screens, and that comes with rules risk, which we cover below.
Is Cluely free?
There's a free Starter plan, so yes in a limited way. The limits are daily caps on AI messages and meeting notes. That's enough to try the app on a few calls. It isn't enough to rely on across a week of interviews, and the free plan doesn't include the hidden mode.
Can you download Cluely?
The site lists a Mac desktop app and an iOS app. We didn't see a Windows version listed on the pages we read. If you're on Windows, check the download page before planning around it. Cluely isn't a fit if you need Windows.
Is Cluely good for job interviews?
It can transcribe a call and answer questions, so it works in the narrow sense. But a notetaker for meetings lacks what an interview tool adds:
- It doesn't take your resume and the job description and build answers around your experience.
- It isn't set up for coding rounds, where you want to capture a problem from your screen and get an approach.
- It doesn't run mock interviews, and it doesn't review your answers after the interview to show what to fix.
A tool built for interviews makes more of the time you have. If your goal is the interview, an interview-focused assistant is a better match. For a meeting notetaker, Cluely's price is reasonable.
How YesToTheOffer compares
We make YesToTheOffer, so weigh this accordingly.
| Cluely | YesToTheOffer | |
|---|---|---|
| Built for | Meetings and calls | Job interviews |
| Free option | Starter plan with daily caps | 30 free minutes |
| Paid pricing | $19.99 a month, or $149.99 with hiding | Minute packs: $29.99 for 240, $59.99 for 600, $99.99 for 1,200 |

| Coding help from screenshots | Not described | Yes, counted at 0.2x |
| Review after the interview | Meeting notes | Transcript and review |
For a few interviews, buying minutes costs less than a monthly plan and you don't need to remember to cancel. Our guide to Cluely alternatives compares five tools with prices from each site, and our reviews of Final Round AI and Parakeet AI cover two of the interview-focused options.
Check the rules first
Cluely's top plan is sold on being hidden from screen sharing. Hiding a tool doesn't make its use allowed. Many employers ban AI help in live interviews and online assessments, and some ask you to confirm you won't use it. If you're caught, you can lose the offer.
The safer uses of any assistant are preparation: practicing answers, running mock interviews, and reading a transcript afterward to see what to improve. Our AI interview copilot guide explains how to build answers from your own experience.
